Among those were clinical trials for many of the pharmaceuticals that are currently being used as a standard of care in the retina/ophthalmology field today.ĭr. He has extensive experience in clinical research and has participated in over sixty clinical trials dating back to 1998. Higgins has been a practicing vitreous-retinal surgeon specializing in medical and surgical disease in northern New Jersey for over 15 years and was the founder of the Retina Center of New Jersey. Higgins is double fellowship-trained, having completed a one-year medical retina fellowship at New York University in New York City, followed by a second surgical retina fellowship at the Touro Eye Infirmary in New Orleans, Louisiana.ĭr.
